Taye Diggs' son with Broadway legend Idina Menzel apparently "can't stand" the theater craft that made his parents famous, the actor revealed in a new interview on *Live With Kelly & Mark*.

The *Moulin Rouge!* actor appeared Thursday on the talk show to promote his role in the Broadway production, telling Kelly Ripa and guest cohost Carson Kressley (who filled in for regular host Mark Consuelos) that his 15-year-old son Walker isn't as enamored with live performances as his mother and father.

"Listen, with parents as talented as the two of you, he's got to have it. Does the kid have it?" Ripa asked Diggs of Walker's performing ability.

"Oh, yes, but he doesn't use it. He's a basketball player, so he uses it on the court," Diggs, 54, replied.

Diggs continued, "The only time he goes to the theater is when his mother, Idina Menzel, or I are on stage. Other than that, he can't stand music theater!"

Kressley asked if Walker "came to see" Diggs in his new show. "He did, and he said he dug it!" the actor said.

Diggs and Menzel, who were married from 2003 to 2014, costarred in the original 1996 Broadway production of *Rent*, for which Menzel received a Tony nomination. She later won the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for her legendary performance as Elphaba in *Wicked*. Menzel, who made a cameo in last year's *Wicked* film adaptation, just concluded a Broadway run in *Redwood* in May.

Diggs' other Broadway credits include *Wicked*, *Chicago*, and *Hedwig and the Angry Inch*.

The former couple also helped bring *Rent* to the big screen, as Diggs and Menzel starred in the 2005 movie adaptation of the popular musical, reprising their roles as Benny and Maureen, respectively.
