Happy Gilmore is back and ready to prove himself once more.

It's a new story filled with familiar faces, including Julie Bowen's Virginia Venit and Christopher McDonald's Shooter McGavin. Along the way, Happy encounters a gaggle of real-life sports stars, pro golfers, and beloved celebrities, as well as Sandler's own family.
Sandler gushed about the massive cast and cameos to *.* "No matter what, no matter who was in the movie, it was an exciting day," he said. "There's just so many people that made it exciting."

Adam Sandler has left an unmistakable mark on Hollywood, evolving from his early days on *Saturday Night Live* (1990–1995) to becoming one of the most consistently successful (and versatile) talents in the industry.
After becoming a film star with hits like *Billy Madison* (1995) and *The Wedding Singer* (1998), Sandler built a comedy empire with his production company, Happy Madison.
Over the past decade and change, Sandler and Happy Madison have helped lead the shift from theatrical to streaming with a lucrative, multi-film Netflix deal that's led to a huge slate of comedies, including *Murder Mystery* and *Hustle*. While they've rarely been critical favorites, Sandler's Netflix releases have proven highly successful for the streamer.
At the same time, Sandler has earned acclaim for his dramatic work in films such as Noah Baumbach's *The Meyerowitz Stories* (2017) and the Safdie Brothers' *Uncut Gems* (2019), the latter of which what's arguably the best performance of his career.

Up next for Sandler is *Jay Kelly*, a coming-of-age dramedy directed and co-written by Baumbach, in which Sandler stars as Ron, the manager and friend of a famous actor (played by George Clooney).
Sandler reprises his role as Happy in *Happy Gilmore 2*, albeit as a much different version of the golfer we know and love. "Happy definitely is in pain," Sandler told EW in an interview with Bowen and McDonald.
He also gushed about returning to this environment, saying, "You couldn't have a nicer vibe. It was just the whole thing. There wasn't like a particular day, you didn't want any day to end. You were with somebody you loved and somebody you just met that you idolized."
Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin

Prolific character actor Christopher McDonald is perhaps best known for his career-defining role as the villainous professional golfer Shooter McGavin in *Happy Gilmore*. Other notable films on his resume include *The Faculty* (1998), *Requiem for a Dream *(2000), and *61** (2001), among many others.
McDonald's also made his mark on the small screen, with roles on *Family Law *(1999–2002), *Boardwalk Empire *(2010–2012), *Impeachment: American Crime Story* (2021), and *Hacks *(2021–present), the latter earning him an Emmy nomination in 2022.
McDonald returns to the role of Shooter McGavin, reprising his role as Happy's main rival who has struggled with a mental breakdown following his defeat in the original film.
Benny Safdie as Frank Manatee

Benny Safdie, who co-directed Sandler in *Uncut Gems*, has been putting a lot more focus on his acting career these days, carving out a strong presence with roles in *Licorice Pizza* (2021), *Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret* (2023), and Christopher Nolan's award-winning *Oppenheimer* (2023).
Along with *Uncut Gems*, Safdie and his brother Josh co-directed *Heaven Knows What* (2014) and *Good Time* (2017). He also starred in *Good Time* alongside Robert Pattinson and co-wrote *Uncut Gems. *
Most recently, Safdie co-created, wrote, edited, and produced the brilliant Showtime series *The Curse* (2023), which he also starred in alongside Nathan Fielder and Emma Stone.
Coming up, Safdie is writing, directing, editing, and producing *The Smashing Machine*, a biographical sports drama about MMA fighter Mark Kerr, played by Dwayne Johnson. He'll also reunite with Nolan for a role in *The Odyssey*.
In *Happy Gilmore 2*, Safdie leans into his villainous side as Frank Manatee, the slick CEO of Maxi Energy Drink and sponsor of Maxi Golf.
Speaking with *Time *about the role, he said that if he can inspire "even an eighth of the level of hatred Shooter did," he'll have succeeded.
Bad Bunny as Oscar Mejías

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny first rose to fame in 2016 and has since become one of the most influential artists in music, with many crediting the Grammy-winning artist for redefining the sounds of Latin trap music.
Outside of music, he's also made a name in professional wrestling, appearing as an in-ring performer at multiple WWE events since 2021.
As an actor, Bad Bunny has taken on roles in several projects, including the high-octane action-comedy *Bullet Train* (2022), the wrestling biopic *Cassandro* (2023), and the upcoming crime thriller *Caught Stealing*.
Bad Bunny stars as Oscar Mejías, a former busboy who becomes Happy's new caddy. He joked at the film's red carpet premiere that he was born to star in *Happy Gilmore 2*. "I was supposed to be here because the first one was before I was born. So, they said, 'Okay, let's wait for him for the second.'"
Haley Joel Osment as Billy Jenkins
Haley Joel Osment as Billy Jenkins in 'Happy Gilmore 2'.
Haley Joel Osment began his career as a child actor and got his big break with *The Sixth Sense* (1999), earning an Oscar nomination at just 11 years old.
Since then, Osment has built a stable career across film and television, with recent roles on the series *Future Man* (2017–2019) and *The Boys* (2019), as well as movies such as *Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile* (2019), *Somebody I Used to Know* (2023), and *Blink Twice* (2024).
Osment can next be seen in season 2 of Netflix's *Wednesday *(2025). In fact, you can watch his scene right here.
Osment joins the *Happy Gilmore *world as Billy Jenkins, a young pro golfer with a monster swing. He plays for the rival team, Maxi Golf.
Ben Stiller as Hal L.

Scott Yamano/Netflix
Ben Stiller has been a defining force in comedy for decades, rising to fame with hits like *Zoolander* (2001), *Dodgeball* (2004), and *Tropic Thunder* (2008).
He's also the face of several blockbuster franchises, including *Meet the Parents* (2000–2026), *Madagascar* (2005–2012), and *Night at the Museum* (2006–2014).
Behind the scenes, Stiller has left his mark as a director on films like *The Cable Guy* (1996) and *The Secret Life of Walter Mitty* (2013). In recent years, he's become a major creative force in television, most notably on Apple TV+'s critically acclaimed series *Severance *(2022–present).
Next for Stiller is the pickleball comedy *The Dink* and next year's *Focker In-Law*, the fourth installment in the *Meet the Parents* series.
In *Happy Gilmore 2*, Stiller returns as Hal L., the twisted caregiver from the original film and *Hubie Halloween*. This time, Hal is running a support group for recovering alcoholics (and not exactly with compassion).
"I'm always ready to play Hal L," Stiller told *Collider* last November. "The opportunity to do that guy is just so much fun because he has no redeeming characteristics... You don't have to worry about making him likable, so it's really fun to just go for it."
Lavell Crawford as Slim Peterson
Lavell Crawford as Slim Peterson in 'Happy Gilmore 2'.
Many will recognize Lavell Crawford as Huell Babineaux from *Breaking Bad* (2011–2013) and its spinoff, *Better Call Saul* (2017–2022). But he's no stranger to Sandler's world, either, having appeared beside him in movies like *The Ridiculous 6* (2015) and *Hubie Halloween* (2020).
In *Happy Gilmore 2*, Crawford plays Slim Peterson, the son of Happy's late mentor Chubbs (Carl Weathers). Like his father, Slim offers Happy some much-needed golf advice (and yes, he also has a wooden hand).
Sadie Sandler as Charlotte
Sadie Sandler as Charlotte in 'Happy Gilmore 2'.
Sadie Sandler, the eldest daughter of Sandler and his wife Jackie, got her start in Hollywood early, making her first appearance in *You Don't Mess with the Zohan* (2008).
Since then, she's become a familiar face in her dad's films, with roles in *Pixels* (2015), *Sandy Wexler* (2017), and *You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah* (2023). She also voiced Winnie in the *Hotel Transylvania* films (2012–2018).
Next up, she'll star in *Leo 2* and *Roommates*, a Netflix comedy produced by her father and featuring an ensemble cast that includes Natasha Lyonne, Chloe East, and Storm Reid. While balancing her rising career, Sandler is also studying acting at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
Sandler is new to the *Happy Gilmore *universe, stepping into the role of Charlotte, a member of Hal L.'s Alcoholics Anonymous group who becomes a key figure in Happy's journey toward sobriety.
Sunny Sandler as Vienna
Sunny Sandler as Vienna in 'Happy Gilmore 2'.
Sunny Sandler, the youngest daughter of the Sandlers, got her start on screen as a child in *Grown Ups* (2010), playing the daughter of Tardio (Richie Minervini). Fun fact: her onscreen mom and sister were played by her real-life mom and sister.
Since then, she's appeared in a number of her father's movies, including *Murder Mystery* (2019), *Hubie Halloween* (2020), *Leo* (2023), and *Spaceman* (2024). She also starred alongside her sister in *You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah*.
Up next, she'll star in *Don't Say Good Luck*, a Netflix teen musical produced by her dad and costarring Melanie Lynskey, Max Greenfield, and Steve Buscemi.
In *Happy Gilmore 2*, Sandler stars as Vienna Gilmore, Happy and Virginia's youngest child and only daughter. An aspiring dancer, Vienna's passion becomes a major part of the story, as Happy dusts off his clubs and returns to the green to help pay for ballet school in Paris.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman as Gordie
Maxwell Jacob Friedman as Gordie in 'Happy Gilmore 2'.
Professional wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman, a.k.a. MJF, is currently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), but that hasn't stopped him from pursuing an acting career.
He made a brief appearance as Lance Von Erich in A24's *The Iron Claw* (2023), on which he also served as an executive producer. He also voiced Killer Croc in *Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part Two *(2023).
In the ring, MJF is known for playing a heel and has earned praise for blurring the lines between fiction and reality. He's a former AEW World Champion (with, as of this writing, the longest title reign in the promotion's history) and a one-time AEW International Champion.
In *Happy Gilmore 2*, Friedman takes on the role of Gordie Gilmore, the eldest child and son of Happy and Virginia. Friedman said it wasn't hard to play Gordie, describing his character on the podcast *Kyle Meredith With... *as "a rambunctious, slightly angry, big, loud guy."
Ethan Cutkosky as Wayne
Ethan Cutkosky as Wayne in 'Happy Gilmore 2'.
To many, Ethan Cutkosky will always be known as Carl Gallagher, the troublemaker-turned-cop on Showtime's *Shameless* (2011–2021).
Since wrapping the long-running series, Cutkosky has stayed busy with roles on *The Conners* (2022), where he reunited with *Shameless* costar Emma Kenney, and the upcoming film *Going Places* (2025), which he also co-produced.
In *Happy Gilmore 2*, he steps into the role of Wayne Gilmore, the second-oldest child of Happy and Virginia. Wayne is a rowdy and rebellious teen, a type Cutkosky knows well thanks to his *Shameless* days.
Philip Fine Schneider as Bobby
Philip Fine Schneider as Bobby in 'Happy Gilmore 2'.
Philip Fine Schneider (no, he's not related to Sandler pal Rob Schneider) makes his onscreen debut in *Happy Gilmore 2* as Bobby Gilmore, the third son of Happy and Virginia.
Before landing the role, Schneider was playing none other than Hamlet in a 2023 college production of the Shakespeare tragedy at Yale University.
Conor Sherry as Terry
Conor Sherry as Terry in 'Happy Gilmore 2'.
Conor Sherry made his film debut in *Snack Shack* (2024), a nostalgic coming-of-age comedy set in 1991. In that film, he played A.J. Carter, a teen working at a small-town Nebraska pool snack bar.
Before hitting the big screen, Sherry had recurring roles on shows like *The Terminal List* and *Are You Afraid of the Dark?*, both released in 2022.
Sherry appears in *Happy Gilmore 2* as Terry Gilmore, the youngest son of Happy and Virginia.
