- A fourth *Meet the Parents *film, titled *Focker In-Law*, is in the works.
- Ariana Grande will star alongside franchise veterans Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
- *Focker In-Law *is currently slated to hit theaters on Nov. 25, 2026.
Can you milk a cat? We're still unclear. You can, however, milk nostalgia. Case in point: The *Meet the Parents* franchise is officially getting a fourth film. Yes, the circle of trust is opening back up.
In December 2024, word got out that Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo were in early talks to reunite for another round of family chaos. By March, it was confirmed that *Meet the Parents 4* was in the works. John Hamburg, who penned all three previous films, is set to write and direct.
On Monday, July 28, Universal Studios officially revealed that the sequel is titled *Focker In-Law,* and that it will fold a chart-topping, Oscar-nominated pop star in with several of the franchise's familiar faces.
Read on for everything we know about *Focker In-Law. *

As of now, plot details for *Focker In-Law* are still being kept hush-hush, but *The Hollywood Reporter *revealed in May that the story will follow Greg (Stiller) and Pam's (Polo) grown son, Henry, "who gets engaged to a ball-busting woman who seems all wrong for him."
At a 25th anniversary screening of *Meet the Parents* during the 2025 Tribeca Festival, Stiller opened up about what inspired him to return to the film series.
"I think what spurred the idea was that at this point in time, I'm the age that Bob [De Niro] was when we did the first movie," he explained. "And there was this sort of mirror to the first film in terms of the fact that my kids are grown. And, yeah, that my kid, one of my kids, is thinking about introducing his person to the family."

Following the screening, Stiller reunited with De Niro, Polo, and the original director Jay Roach for a Q&A. Stiller joked that he could tell the crowd "the whole plot," but wisely stopped short.
"It's exciting that we're going to do it again and be together," Stiller continued. "And I think life informs everything that's happened in the last 25 years, and it's been a while since we did the last one. … So, it's kind of great to look at it as a sort of a new thing. But of course, there's all these great memories, and I feel like our connections are still there when we get back together. It's just all baked in there."
De Niro added that the script is "really good" and shared that he had actually tried to get a fourth film started while working on 2010's *Little Fockers*. "When we filmed the last one, I was with Ben and John [Hamburg] in my camper," he recalled, "And I said, 'Let's start writing one now, to be ready for another one.' And they said, 'Yeah, yeah, sure, sure, sure.' They were humoring me."

On Monday, July 28, the official *Focker In-Law* social media accounts dropped a video announcing the film's title and cast.
Set to Randy Newman's song "A Fool in Love," which was featured in the first film, the video rolls out the names of De Niro, Stiller, Danner, Polo, and Owen Wilson, confirming that they will reprise their roles as Jack Byrnes, Greg Focker, Dina Byrnes, Pam Byrnes Focker, and Kevin Rawley, respectively.
It goes on to spotlight Grammy-winning pop star Ariana Grande as a part of the cast.* * previously confirmed Grande's involvement back in May.
Grande is fresh off her Oscar-nominated turn as Glinda the Good in *Wicked* (2024), a performance we praised for perfectly capturing "Glinda's aesthetic and attitude."
It's a big get, as sources recently told the *Hollywood Reporter* that Grande has been "offered numerous movie projects from Universal, Sony and Warner Bros., passing on all of them."
*Deadline* reports that two other exciting names have joined the cast: Skyler Gisondo, who played Jimmy Olsen in this year's *Superman,* and Golden Globe nominee Beanie Feldstein (*Impeachment: American Crime Story*).
