Cameron Boyce's mom is thanking Adam Sandler after his latest film, *Happy Gilmore 2*, seemingly paid tribute to her late son.

"Thank you @adamsandler for honoring Cam's legacy in Happy Gilmore 2," Libby Boyce wrote in an Instagram post on Monday. Cameron, best known for roles in *Descendants*, *Jessie*, and *Mrs. Fletcher*, died in 2019 at age 20 "in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition," a family spokesperson announced at the time.

Libby's post featured a still from the film, which shows Sandler's Happy Gilmore, who is attempting to get back into golf, checking in at a golf course. The people working behind the check-in counter are shown watching a TV show that features Cameron. Eagle-eyed fans noted it appears to be an episode from his Disney Channel show *Jessie*, where he played Luke Ross from 2011 to 2015.

On Sunday, Libby also shared an article discussing the apparent tribute to her son, and provided more thoughts on the sweet cameo.

"Adam and Cameron talked quite a bit in the days leading up to his death," she wrote. "Cameron was supposed to be in *Hubie Halloween* and they were strategizing. They had a bond I think related to being authentic, funny and just keeping it real. Adam always finds a way to keep Cam's memory alive which warms our heart."

Cameron played Sandler's son in 2010's *Grown Ups* and its 2013 sequel *Grown Ups 2*. Though he wasn't able to star in *Hubie Halloween*, Sandler also included a touching tribute to his late costar in that film.

Midway through the credits of the Halloween comedy, which was released in 2020, a picture of Cameron was shown along with the message: "In loving memory of CAMERON BOYCE. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day."

The Sandman was also one of many to pay tribute to Cameron shortly after his death. "Too young. Too sweet. Too funny," Sandler wrote on social media at the time. "Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences."

Sandler also sent Cameron a note on what would have been his 21st birthday in May 2020: "Happy birthday to Cameron. Would have been 21 years old. Such a great kid. We all miss him a lot. Especially his incredible family," Sandler wrote on Instagram.**
