Selena Gomez reflected on her longtime friendship with bestie Taylor Swift, which started after they dated two of the Jonas Brothers in their teens.

The *Wizards of Waverly Place *star appeared on the *Therapuss With Jake Shane *podcast and shared the story of how she met the Grammy winner. The two met when Gomez was 15 and Swift was 18.

The *Only Murders in the Building* actress was dating Nick Jonas at the time. Meanwhile, the "Style" singer was in a relationship with Joe Jonas.

"We were young," Gomez said. "We all know and love each other now and it's so cute. We didn't know what we were doing. But yeah, she and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other."

The teen romances flamed out fast, but Gomez and Swift's sisterhood has been well-documented throughout the years. The "Blank Space" artist recently attended the Disney Channel alum's 33rd birthday dinner.

"At that age, we became best friends, bonded over the breakup as girls do," Gomez remembered. "Then we just stuck around for all the ups and downs that came after, and here we are now 16 years later."

The two have also found new love in recent years, with Gomez being engaged to music producer Benny Blanco and Swift dating NFL player Travis Kelce.

The Rare Beauty founder also recalled Swift playing her "Love Story" for the first time early in their friendship. The song had not come out yet but was being considered as the lead single from Swift's sophomore album *Fearless.*

"It was one of those songs I instantly heard and thought, 'This is one of the most beautiful songs ever,'" Gomez said.
