Alison Brie is ready to *Scream* again.

The actor has revealed she wants to return to the horror film franchise, despite her character dying in *Scream 4*.

"I feel like with new *Scream *rules, even though she dies brutally, we could bring her back," her husband Dave Franco said on this week's episode of the *Shut Up Evan* podcast.

"Yeah, where's my role in *Scream 7*?" Brie responded.

Brie played Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) publicist Rebecca Walters in 2011's *Scream 4,* which was Wes Craven's final film in the franchise before his death in 2015. Rebecca became one of Ghostface's many victims when she was killed by the masked villain in a parking garage.

However, the franchise has previously resurrected other dead characters in various ways for sequels, including Skeet Ulrich via hallucinations in 2022's *Scream*, and Matthew Lillard, David Arquette, and Scott Foley who are all set to return for the seventh movie.

Despite the movies' high body counts, Brie critiqued the "current era of the *Scream* franchise" for having "too many people live."

"The core four needs to die!" Brie said. "We should be down to two of the core four by *Scream 7."*

But when Franco — who is currently starring with Brie in horror film *Together* (now in theaters) — reminded her that Arquette's main character Dewey was killed by Ghostface in 2022's *Scream*, Brie said that his death was a "mistake."

They should "keep the main three," she added, meaning Dewey, Sidney, and Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox).

*Scream 7* will feature the return of Campbell as iconic "Scream Queen" Sidney, Cox as reporter Gale, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin, along with franchise filmmaker Kevin Williamson. The movie will also introduce Sidney's daughter (Isabel May) and husband (now played by Joel McHale, *not* Patrick Dempsey). Other new cast members include Mckenna Grace, Celeste O'Connor, Asa Germann, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, and Mark Consuelos.

*Scream 7* hits theaters on Feb. 27, 2026.
