Though the Lohannaisance got its bearings via Lindsay Lohan's trio of Netflix rom-coms, it didn't fully arrive until *Freakier Friday*, the actress' first major role in a theatrical movie in over 10 years.

And no scene exemplifies the former child star's return to prominence more than a sexy, improvised dance scene that sees her writhing around a tabletop, channeling the same natural charm and electric charisma audiences first fell for decades ago.

"I watched that scene with one eye open," Lohan jokes of the final product in a cover story interview with **, admitting that she told herself, "Let's just go for it" after the screenplay called for a moment of light flirtation that she amped up into a full-on bodily serenade.

The scene occurs about midway through the Nisha Ganatra-directed sequel, which reunites Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, 22 years after their mother-daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman first swapped bodies thanks to an ancient curse. Now, with Tess' daughter Harper (Julia Butters) inhabiting her body and the spirit of her soon-to-be stepdaughter, Lily (Sophia Hammons), occupying Tess' physical form, the teens hatch a plot to prevent their parents from marrying and relocating their lives to London.

Enter Jake (Chad Michael Murray), Anna's ex-*Freaky Friday* flame, who now owns a record store and is very, very single — and the duo schemes to seduce Jake using Harper-as-Anna's untested seduction skills. Lohan, Curtis remembers, took things several steps further.

"The script said 'Anna flips her hair.' Clearly, she flipped her hair," Curtis says of the bare descriptor. So, Lohan arrived on set, let loose, and vaulted atop a table in front of Murray while soundtracked by Britney Spears — a nod to "...Baby One More Time," which Jake and Anna bond over in the first film.

"That wasn't there. None of that was there," Lohan says through a smile, stressing that climbing onto the table just came to her in the moment. "Yeah, I was like, 'Can I?' I almost fell off a few times, too!"

Murray's facial expressions in the moment read as a mix of shocked, confused, and total awe, and Lohan thinks "the reactions were real" on his part.

"One of the greatest things about making this movie was so much of it was made on the day. Just because it's on the page doesn't mean that's what you're doing on the day," remembers Murray. He also remembers that another sequence toward the end of the movie that was "an eighth of a page that turned into five pages" because the creative juices were pumping.

"There was so much creativity flowing and everybody just having fun," says Murray. "I loved watching Lindsay own it. It was like, *Oh, there she is.*"
