Here's the scoop: Oscar Martinez is back in the first trailer for *The Paper*, the upcoming Peacock sitcom set in the same universe as *The Office*.
The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin's branch in Scranton, Pa., have found new subjects in the offshoot, still set in the world of paper: the eclectic staff of *The Truth Teller*, a historic Midwestern newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, well past its glory days. That is, until an intrepid new editor-in-chief (Domhnall Gleeson) steps in to try to revive it.
Gleeson plays *Truth Teller* newcomer Ned Sampson, who bluntly has this to say about the state of the newspaper as it stands: "It sucks." But! "We are going to make it better."**

Ned recruits the existing, ill-equipped staff to become full-fledged reporters, though he may be in over his head here. When asking about their reporting background: "I wrote a paper in junior high." "I've tweeted." "I've been in group texts."
The series also features *The White Lotus* breakout Sabrina Impacciatore as *The Truth Teller*'s manipulative, larger-than-life managing editor Esmerelda Grand, who finds herself demoted upon Ned's arrival. Scheming ensues as she works to undermine an unassuming Ned at every turn.**
Domhnall Gleeson shares details about 'The Office' spinoff 'The Paper'
'The Office' stars John Krasinski, Steve Carell encouraged Domhnall Gleeson to star in spinoff
"I hope it's not too disruptive to have me come in and sort of shake everything up," an earnest Ned tells Esmerelda.
"Oh no, no, don't be so self-defecating," she says, not quite finding the right word for the sentiment.

As for Oscar (Oscar Nuñez), the former Dunder Mifflin accountant makes his big return towards the end of the trailer. And let's just say he's not so happy to be reunited with the documentary crew. "Not again," he says. "I'm not agreeing to any of this!"
"I will make this unusable," Oscar tells the crew of the footage, shouting out expletives.
The ensemble cast is rounded out by Chelsea Frei (as Mare), Melvin Gregg (Detrick), Gbemisola Ikumelo (Adelola), Alex Edelman (Adam), Ramona Young (Nicole), and Tim Key (Ken). *The Office*'s Greg Daniels serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer alongside Michael Koman, while Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, creators of the original British version of *The Office*, also executive produce.
*The Paper *premieres Sept. 4 on Peacock with four episodes, followed by two new episodes every Thursday through Sept. 25. Watch the trailer above.
