*Bachelor* Nation, Miranda Cosgrove's new Netflix rom-com is totally for you.
* *has your exclusive first look at the trailer for *The Wrong Paris,* starring the *iCarly* alum as a reality dating TV show contestant who is actually there for the wrong reasons. *The Bachelor *fans know exactly the type — and so does Cosgrove, who is a major reality show fan herself.
"I love rom-coms and reality shows," she tells EW. "I love *The Bachelor *and *Love on the Spectrum*. I've always loved reality because my friends would always have parties around reality TV, especially *The Bachelor*. I just think it brings people together and it's fun."**
That's why she jumped at the chance to star in and executive produce *The Wrong Paris*, which lovingly spoofs *The Bachelor *as her down-on-her-luck character, Dawn, joins a dating show because she believes it will send her to Paris, France. But when she and the other excited contestants arrive, they're shocked to find out they're actually in Paris, Texas — because the producers tricked them with a fake long-haul flight (that should be grounds for a lawsuit, if you ask us).

As Dawn plots to either get herself eliminated or win the money at the end, her unexpected feelings for the bachelor, Trey (Pierson Fodé), throw a wrench into her big plans.
"It was fun getting to play the character that isn't really there for love," Cosgrove tells EW. "There usually is at least one person who came for the experience and never thought they were actually going to get the guy. It was fun getting to play a character that's not all about him and just trying to win all the challenges and just focused on making all the money at first. It reminds me of some of the characters on *The Bachelor*, and when I would watch with my friends, we'd always try to figure out who's there for love and who's there for money."
Cosgrove's character Dawn is from a small town not far from Paris, Texas, and she's always dreamed of going to art school in Paris, France. She just can't afford to get there, which is why she signs up for the dating show, *The Honeypot,* which was marketed as being set in the City of Light. Imagine her disappointment when she arrives after a nine-hour flight with the rest of the contestants, only to find out she's actually just a few minutes down the road from her home.

Thankfully, the show features a twist that can still work out for Dawn: at the end, the winner can either pick the "Honey," a.k.a. the man, or the "Honeypot," a.k.a. the cash prize. "My character definitely is in it for the Honeypot," Cosgrove says with a laugh. "And the show's supposed to actually take the contestants to Paris if they make it far enough, so that's pretty much like her whole drive. She's really not looking for love at all, and then it, of course, hits her as the movie goes along."
Just like reality shows, there are multiple twists in the movie, and one of them arrives in the very beginning: Dawn and Trey actually meet before the show starts filming, and sparks really fly.
"This doesn't ever happen on *The Bachelor,*" Cosgrove says. "They meet out at a bar one night, and they have this crazy connection, but it gets broken up randomly, and she doesn't get to exchange numbers or see him again. Weeks go by, and he ends up being the Bachelor on *The Honeypot*. It makes my character really torn inside because she's come to try to reach her dream by winning the show, and then she's faced with this guy that she already knows she really likes."

Cue the reality TV and rom-com drama — along with a *lot* of physical comedy, Cosgrove promises — as the contestants battle it out for the cowboy's affection. And Cosgrove loves all the juicy drama that takes place — onscreen, that is.
"It was not like *The Bachelor* in real life," she promises. "There's so much drama on the show, and it was like 90 percent just all girls my age in the movie, and we all got along really well. It was so fun getting to know all of the people playing the different contestants."
