The *Sex and the City *universe is keeping it in the family.
Ella Stiller, the daughter of Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, was introduced as a new character on last week's episode of *SATC *sequel series *And Just Like That. *Her Mia enters as the pregnant girlfriend of Brady Hobbes (Niall Cunningham), the son of original *SATC *staples Steve Brady (David Eigenberg) and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon).
In "Better Than Sex," the tenth episode of the series' third (and recently announced, final) season, Brady shocks his parents with the revelation, explaining that he's only "hooked up" with Mia a few times and doesn't even know her last name. But the actress' connection to deep *Sex and the City *lore is even more surprising.

In addition to her famous parents, Stiller is the granddaughter of the prolific actress Anne Meara, who died in 2015 at the age of 85. Meara married comedian Jerry Stiller shortly after they met in the early 1950s, and had Ben in 1965. She starred in films like *Night at the Museum *and *Reality Bites *and graced the small screen in series like *Murphy Brown*, *Murder, She Wrote*, and beginning in 2002, *Sex and the City*.
Meara appeared on four episodes spanning the series' fifth and sixth seasons as Mary Brady - the very same Brady as Eigenberg's Steve. And just like that, grandmother and granddaughter are officially reunited in the *SATC*-verse as grandmother and... maybe, possibly, granddaughter-in-law?

Earlier this year, Christine Taylor revealed yet another connection between the Stiller-Taylor clan and *Sex and the City*.
On a March episode of franchise star Kristin Davis' new *SATC *rewatch podcast *Are You a Charlotte?*, Taylor compared her first date with Stiller to protagonist Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) first date with her larger-than-life former beau Big (Chris Noth). "Ben and I went on our first date and Ben was *Ben Stiller... There's Something About Mary* had come out, and it was huge," she said. "But he was still Ben Stiller, so he attracted attention wherever he went."**

*And Just Like That *will air two more episodes before it officially concludes its series run.
Parker memorialized her decades on screen as Carrie in a lengthy Instagram tribute shortly after news of the series cancellation broke. "Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all. I know others have loved her just as I have," she wrote. "*AJLT* was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us. I am better for every single day I spent with you."
