Sarah Michelle Gellar is showing her slaying protégé the ropes.**** The actress has posted a workout video featuring Ryan Kiera Armstrong, the new star of the upcoming *Buffy the Vampire Slayer* reboot, training with her at the gym.
"Warrior 1 and 2. We don't sweat … we sparkle," Gellar wrote in the caption for the clip, which she shared on Instagram on Friday.
The video was set to "The Warrior," Scandal's 1984 track with singer Patty Smyth, which has a lyrical refrain — "I am the warrior" — that formed a cheeky parallel to Gellar's boast.
Gellar previously announced that she will return to play Buffy in Hulu's new iteration of the teen fantasy series alongside Armstrong, who stars as a budding young slayer in the reboot.

Gellar welcomed Armstrong to the *Buffy* family in a sweet video on social media. "I know this process has been hard," she told the actress at the time. "How do you feel about helping me save the world? You wanna be my chosen one?"
The *I Know What You Did Last Summer* and *Cruel Intentions* star wrote in her caption that she immediately "knew there was only one girl that I wanted by my side" after seeing Armstrong's audition.
"To have that kind of emotional intelligence and talent at such a young age is truly a gift," she added. "The bonus is that her smile lights up even the darkest room."

Gellar recently teased the tone of the new *Buffy* installment in an interview with *Vanity Fair Italia*. "It will be lighter than the last few seasons of the original," she said. "We will try to find a balance between new and old characters. My dream is to bring back everyone who has died, but space will have to be made for new stories as well."
Last month, Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia Chase on the original series and its TV spinoff, *Angel*, said she wants to return for the *Buffy *revival, which is being developed by Gellar, Nora and Lilla Zuckerman (*Poker Face*), and Chloé Zhao (*Nomadland*).
"I am so excited for fans, and I know it will be fantastic because of who's involved," Carpenter told IGN. "I am so hopeful to be included, for Cordelia to be a part of this new iteration."
