Tom Holland is weighing in on whether or not he could one day soon trade in his Spidey senses for shaken — not stirred — martinis.

Gordon Ramsay coyly teased the *Spider-Man* actor about the possibility of him being the next James Bond, in a recent episode of the chef's YouTube series *Scrambled*. In response, Holland smirked at the question and acknowledged that "there's speculation at the minute" and "we'll keep it to a minimum for now."**

"We'll get there one day," he teased, but didn't elaborate.**

"Seriously, can you imagine what's going to happen to your life if you do?" Ramsay asked, referring to Holland picking up the 007 mantle. "You'd love the opportunity, right?"**

"I mean, every young British actor, it's the pinnacle of working in our industry," Holland said. "I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive, you know? I could never have dreamed to have the career that I've had."

Speculation of who will play the spy extraordinaire next has been ongoing for years, ever since the last Bond, Daniel Craig, revealed that 2021's *No Time to Die* would be his fifth and final outing in the role.

Henry Golding says playing James Bond is 'every actor's kind of nightmare' because of 'restraints' and 'expectation': 'Maybe I'm just a p----'

'Kingsman' star Taron Egerton says he's 'too messy' to play James Bond: 'It would be wasted on me'

In March 2024, a report in U.K. tabloid publication *The Sun* claimed that *Kraven the Hunter* star Aaron Taylor-Johnson was the latest name under consideration to replace Craig. The report, based on an unnamed source, claimed that "Bond is Aaron's job, should he wish to accept it" and that producers expected him to sign on the dotted line in the coming days; however, a separate source close to the situation told EW at the time that the claims were not true.

That report came after a different *Sun* story earlier that year claimed *Oppenheimer* Oscar winner Cillian Murphy was a favorite for the role, with former James Bond Pierce Brosnan later throwing his support behind the idea, telling the BBC, "Cillian [Murphy] would do a magnificent job as James Bond on His Majesty's Secret Service."

In addition to Taylor-Johnson, Murphy, and Holland, *Happy Valley* star James Norton, *Snowfall*'s Damson Idris, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Regé-Jean Page, and Richard Madden have all been mentioned at one time or another. For years, fans of *Luther* star Idris Elba also nominated him for the role, but he told *The Wall Street Journal* in 2022 it was unlikely he'd take it on.

"When I look in the mirror, I don't see James Bond," Elba told the outlet at the time.

Though the role has not been cast (yet), there has been recent movement on the next Bond film that would suggest an announcement could be coming soon. In June, Amazon MGM Studios revealed Oscar-nominated *Dune* filmmaker Denis Villeneuve has been tapped to direct the next 007 movie, which will be the first from the company. *Peaky Blinders* creator Steven Knight will pen the screenplay. Villeneuve will also serve as an executive producer, alongside Tanya Lapointe. It was previously revealed that Amy Pascal and David Heyman will also serve as producers.

In the meantime, Holland's fourth *Spider-Man* film is slated to swing into theaters July 31, 2026, and he also has Christopher Nolan's *The Odyssey* opening on July 17, 2026.
