Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is getting a fresh new look!
On Friday, Marvel unveiled a first look at what appears to be a new Spidey suit for the upcoming fourth installment of its Tom Holland-led films, *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*. The video — which is less than 10 seconds — delivers glimpses of the new suit, which features raised black webbing against the sharp red that is reminiscent of the comics' bright red and blue suit.
The video was posted with the caption, "Something brand new is coming."**
Aug. 1 happens to be National Spider-Man Day, so the announcement was fitting (no pun intended).
Keen-eyed fans will remember that 2021's *Spider-Man: No Way Home *ended with Holland's Peter Parker swinging through New York City in a new suit that resembles the character's iconic costume from the comics. This newly teased suit seems like it's similar to that look, including the faint spider webbing design that's a nod to the original comics.**
It's a promising first look at the upcoming film, which will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (*Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Just Mercy*) with a script from Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna.**

*No Way Home* ended with Peter Parker being erased from the memory of everyone who knew he was Spider-Man, including all his friends and loved ones. The final scenes featured Peter returning to his comic book roots as a street-level hero, working on his own without any fancy technology or high-powered allies.**
Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will both return for the fourth film, reprising their roles as MJ and Ned Leeds, respectively.**** In June, ** confirmed that Jon Bernthal had joined the cast, bringing his Marvel TV character, Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher, to the big screen for the first time. *Stranger Things* star Sadie Sink has also joined the ensemble in a yet unknown role.**

Plot details for *Brand New Day* is still under wraps, but Cretton — who is taking the reins from Jon Watts, who helmed the first three films — told fans at CinemaCon in April that the team was hard at work and teased an "emotional" story.
"I'm spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world," he said. "We're all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven't really seen before."
Holland, who couldn't make the event but appeared via pre-recorded video, also teased what fans can expect in the next installment.

"I am so sorry I can't be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie," said Holland, who will next star opposite fiancée Zendaya in Christopher Nolan's star-studded *The Odyssey*, in the pre-recorded video. "I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of *No Way Home*, so *Spider Man: Brand New Day* is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That's all I can say."**
"That's all I've been allowed to say," reiterated the actor, who has become notorious for spilling the beans on Marvel secrets. "And I'm well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don't be worried. I'm not going to do that today. But thank you for your support. It's always a joy and I will be back next year, hopefully."**
*Spider-Man: Brand New Day *will swing into theaters on July 31, 2026.**
