Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez balances life in the spotlight with raising his kids: Emily Cinnamon, María Fernanda, Saúl Adiel and Eva Victoria.
Canelo welcomed his oldest child, Emily, with ex-girlfriend Karen Beltrán in 2007. He shares son Saúl with Nelda Sepulveda, while he welcomed daughters María and Eva with wife Fernanda Gómez.
The boxer will be facing off against Terence Crawford at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sept. 13 — a bout that will air on Netflix. Despite his global success, his children remain his top priority.
"They're all very intelligent," he told Caras Mexico in July 2021. "Emily is very serious, Adiel is a little more shy, and María is very playful. She's not shy at all. She talks and chats, she can hold conversations with you."
Canelo has spoken about his hopes to expand his family. "I would like to have three more children, but my wife is the one who decides," he continued. "I hope there are at least two more."

While Emily grew up in the orbit of her father's global fame, she has developed her own passions, which include a deep love for equestrian sports. Over the years, she has participated in 68 competitions and won two of them, per the Fédération Équestre Internationale.
When Emily celebrated her quinceañera in October 2022, her father left nothing to chance, sparing no expense to create a magical evening for his eldest daughter. Emily wore three gowns throughout the occasion, all designed by Wil Medina México, per Quinceanera.com.
During the night, Emily shared a waltz with her dad to the song "Mi Princesa." Afterwards, Canelo took the stage alongside Carín León to sing Joan Sebastián's "Eso Y Más," according to the Spanish newspaper Marca.
To commemorate the occasion, Canelo wrote on Instagram, "Best thing to happen to me 15 years ago. I love you my daughter, always be happy ❤️ @emilyc.alvarez happy fifteen 😍."
Emily has also been a consistent presence at her father's most high-profile fights. To celebrate their relationship, the boxer even got a tattoo of Emily's face on his forearm in February 2018, per Instagram.

Canelo and Gomez welcomed their first child, daughter María Fernanda Álvarez, in December 2017, per Instagram.
Like her siblings, María is already heavily invested in her dad's career. She and her brother are frequently at his side when he is practicing at the gym, and María has sat on his lap and stood on stage with him during pre-fight press conferences.
While all of his children enjoy supporting him at his fights, María is the one who gets the most anxious, according to Canelo.
"I think María is the one with more nervous on herself because she says that she don't want somebody to hurt me or something like that," he told The Sun in May 2025. "And I say, 'Don't worry, that's why I'm here training and do my doing my best here in training camp so that doesn't happen.' "
María Fernanda has also begun to mirror her mother's flair for style. The two are often spotted in coordinated looks, sometimes stepping out in glamorous princess gowns, other times keeping it casual in matching tracksuits, per Instagram posts.
She also shares twinning moments with her dad. The pair showed off their playful side by dressing as ninjas for a Halloween Instagram post in 2023 and later decked out in cowboy-and-cowgirl outfits to celebrate her birthday in 2024.
"I let [my daughter] paint my nails, put on eyeshadow, she puts bows on me and she makes a mess of it," he shared on Red Table Talk: The Estefans in November 2021. "But what can I do?"

Canelo and Sepulveda welcomed his only son, Saúl Adiel Álvarez, in 2019.
Saúl is a fixture at his father's bouts and already seems determined to follow in his father's footsteps. In June 2024, Canelo shared a clip on Instagram of Saúl firing off punches.
According to Canelo, his son has already expressed big dreams about fighting himself.
"He loves boxing. He told me, 'Hey, when am I going to fight in Vegas?' " Canelo told The Sun in September 2023. "I said, 'OK, take it easy. When you grow up and you're 18 years old, maybe you can fight in Vegas. First you're going to take the first punch and then let me know if you want to be a boxer or not.' "
Canelo has admitted that watching his son chase the same grueling path won't be easy.
"Boxing is hard and you have your kid there who loves boxing — it's hard, it's going to be hard for me," he continued. "But if he loves boxing that much then I need to support him no matter what."
That support was on full display in May 2025, when Canelo was seen giving his son heartfelt advice about his future. In the clip, Saúl sat with one of his father's WBC belts draped proudly over his shoulder while Canelo spoke about unconditional support.
"If you want to be a boxer, a wrestler, a golfer, an F1 driver, footballer, whatever you want to be, as long as it makes you happy, I will always support you," he said. "I'll always be there for you whatever you want to be. All I want for you is to be happy with whatever you do. If it makes you happy, go for it. It's not about what I want you to be, because it's your life. I'll be here to support you."

Canelo and Gomez welcomed their daughter Eva Victoria Álvarez on Aug. 9, 2025.
The proud dad introduced her to the world in an Instagram post, writing, "You are so brave and super strong my love @fernandagmtz🥹😍 Welcome EVA VICTORIA❤️."
Canelo later spoke about the experience with the Daily Mail, saying, "I left training to be at the birth of my daughter. I received my daughter, and everything was amazing."
He continued, "It was so beautiful. But then I had to go back to my training camp. It was incredibly hard to be away from them. Especially when she had just arrived, but it made me feel motivated. I do everything for them. I will win this fight for them."
