The "Hawái" singer, 31, paused his concert at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City over the weekend to reprimand a mother for bringing her baby to the show without proper ear protection. **

"With all due respect… how old are they?" Maluma asked the mom in Spanish from the stage, per video footage from the event shared on social media and translated by *Variety*. "A year old? Less? A year."

He continued, "Do you think it's a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f---ing high? Where is the sound this loud? That baby doesn't even know what it's doing here." **

Maluma, whose real name is Juan Luis Londoño Arias, emphasized to the mom that it was important that her child wear hearing protection at concerts moving forward. **

"Next time, protect their ears or something. For real," he said. "It's heavy. It's your responsibility. You're waving them around like they're a toy. That baby doesn't want to be there, for real."

- Netflix's live-action adaptation of *One Piece *is returning for season 2.

- Charithra Chandran (*Bridgerton*), Joe Manganiello (*True Blood*), and David Dastmalchian (*The Suicide Squad*) are among the new additions to the cast.

- *One Piece *season 2 will premiere on Netflix in 2026.

**Warning: This article contains spoilers for *One Piece *season 1*.***

******Transforming a wildly popular, hyperactive manga with more than 1,100 episodes into a live-action series is no easy feat, but Netflix's reimagining of *One Piece* pleased noobs and fans alike.

The streamer's spin on *One Piece* debuted in 2023, with Iñaki Godoy starring as the straw-hatted Monkey D. Luffy, a loud-mouthed misfit who links up with an eccentric crew to form his own gang of treasure-hunting pirates. His goal? To become King of the Pirates.

Season 1 of Netflix's *One Piece* introduced Luffy, the body-stretching powers he gains upon eating Devil Fruit, and the unique personalities of his fellow Straw Hat Pirates, which include navigator Nami (Emily Rudd), swordsman Zoro (Mackenyu), marksman Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson), and chef Sanji (Taz Skylar).

Together, they work their way to the perilous and unpredictable Grand Line ocean route in search of the legendary hidden treasure known as One Piece.

Despite some behind-the-scenes shakeups, the show's new season will up the ante by super-sizing its cast with several notable names. Read on for everything we know about *One Piece* season 2.**

How did One Piece season 1 end?

Season 1 of Netflix's *One Piece* adaptation ended with Luffy and the Straw Hat gang liberating Nami's hometown of Coco Village from Arlong (McKinley Belcher III), the spiky-nosed fish-man with hopes of turning the village into a fish-men empire.

Garp (Vincent Regan), Luffy's grandpa and a vice admiral in the Marines, rains on the team's parade when he orders his grandson to quit pirating. Luffy refuses, and he and his team cement their bond as they set sail for the Grand Line.

They'll have company, though. While Luffy is thrilled to see one of his dreams fulfilled when a wanted poster with his face on it begins to circulate, it draws the attention of some unsavory characters.

They include rival pirates Buggy the Clown (Jeff Ward) and Alvida (Ilia Isorelýs Paulino), as well as a mystery man who puts out a cigar on the poster. Fans of the manga know that the mystery man is Smoker, a Marine captain who serves as a major antagonist.**

Who's joining the One Piece season 2 cast?

Godoy, Rudd, Mackenyu, Gibson, Skylar, Ward, and Regan will return for season 2, but their journey across the Grand Line's choppy waters will feature loads of new heroes, villains, and chaos agents.

Most prominent among them is Smoker, who's poised to be one of the season's primary antagonists. The cigar-chomping Marine captain will be played by Callum Kerr, a veteran of series like Hulu's *Monarch* (2022), Netflix's *Virgin River* (2024), and Prime Video's *The Wheel of Time* (2025). Julia Rehwald, who led Netflix's *Fear Street* trilogy (2021), plays Smoker's colleague, Tashigi.

Season 2 will also feature several fan-favorite characters from the manga. Joe Manganiello, the *True Blood* alum and *Deal or No Deal Island* host, will play Mr. 0, the head of Baroque Works, a criminal organization.

Several of Mr. 0's flunkies have also been cast, with David Dastmalchian (*Late Night With the Devil)* as Mr. 3, Camrus Johnson (*Batwoman*) as Mr. 5, and Daniel Lasker (*Raised By Wolves*) as Mr. 9.

Lera Abova (*Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin*), Sophia Anne Caruso (*The School for Good and Evil*), Charithra Chandran (*Bridgerton*), and Jazzara Jaslyn (*Lioness*) will also play Baroque Works agents.

Brendan Sean Murray as Brogy and Emily Rudd as Nami in season 2 of 'One Piece'

Katey Sagal (*Sons of Anarchy*) has been cast as Dr. Kureha, a role initially coveted by Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis. Despite her age, the elderly doctor, an ally to the Straw Hat Pirates, dresses like a teenager, with a crop top, bellybutton ring, and tight jeans emblazoned with flames. Mark Harelik (*The Morning Show*) will play her eccentric colleague, Dr. Hiruluk.

They serve as parental figures for Tony Tony Chopper, a human/reindeer hybrid who plays a key part in *One Piece*'s future. After being teased in two different promotional clips, Tony Tony Chopper was properly introduced at a Netflix Tudum event in May. Watch the video below.

The nugget is voiced by Mikaela Hoover *(Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, ****Superman***), who also performed facial capture for the character. **

Other characters slated for season 2 include Wapol (Rob Colletti), Chess (Mark Penwill), K.M. (Anton David Jeftha), Dalton (Ty Keogh), Ipponmatsu (James Hiroyuki Liao), Dragon (Rigo Sanchez), Crocus (Clive Russell), Igaram (Yonda Thomas), Brogy (Brendan Murray), Dorry (Werner Coetser), and Nefertari Cobra (Sendhil Ramamurthy).**

What is *One Piece *season 2 about?

First and foremost, *One Piece* season 2 will follow our seafaring heroes as they set sail for the Grand Line. And, if the season 1 finale is any indication, they'll be pursued by Buggy and Alvida's pirate gangs, each seeking not just revenge, but also the 30,000,000-berry reward.

As the voluminous cast list demonstrates, though, they aren't the only obstacles standing between the Straw Hat Pirates and the One Piece. Marines Smoker and Tashigi are notable antagonists from the manga, as is Mr. 0 and the motley crew of oddballs that comprise his Baroque Works criminal enterprise.

But Luffy and his pals will also meet some new friends, specifically Sagal's Dr. Kureha and the pint-sized Tony Tony Chopper, a much-beloved character from the manga.

According to a letter shared by Netflix and series creator Eiichiro Oda, season 2 will take its characters to key locations from the mega-popular manga, including "Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island."

Is there a One Piece season 2 trailer?

During the annual *One Piece* Day celebration in Tokyo on August 9, Netflix revealed the first teaser trailer for season 2.

"Everything I've done, everywhere I go, is for the One Piece," says Godoy's Luffy in the teaser. We also catch glimpses of the returning Straw Hats crew and get introduced to new faces set to join the story.**

Among the new cast members shown in the trailer are Abova's Miss All-Sunday, Chandran's Miss Wednesday, Kerr's Smoker, and Murray's Brogy.

The first-look teaser also ends with a big surprise: *One Piece* has already been renewed for season 3. Production on the third season is set to begin later this year in Cape Town, South Africa.

Is there a One Piece season 2 release date?

*One Piece* season 2 will premiere on Netflix in 2026, though an exact release date is yet to be announced.**

Break out the jam and edible flowers: Netflix has extended its creative partnership with Archewell Productions, the media company launched by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Netflix announced an extension of the first-look deal, which spans film and television projects, on Monday, disputing previous reports that the $100 million creative partnership with the couple would expire in 2025 and even announcing a new roster of projects from Archewell, including a holiday special of lifestyle series *With Love, Meghan *and a movie adaptation of Carley Fortune's best-selling novel *Meet Me at the Lake.*

"We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the *As ever* brand," Markle said in a statement. (*As ever,* the lifestyle brand Markle launched in April that includes a website and home and food products, was developed in partnership with Netflix.) "My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision."**

Upcoming projects include a holiday special episode of *With Love, Meghan* in December; a feature adaptation of *Meet Me at the Lake*; and documentary short *Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within*, about orphaned Uganda-based YouTube dance sensations who transformed hardships into joy. David Vieira Lopez and Moses Bwayo directed the latter doc, which counts Markle and Prince Harry as executive producers.

Several reports indicated last month that the couple's contract, signed in 2020, would not be renewed in order to reflect "a shift in Netflix's broader business strategy," though there was "no animosity from either side."

On Hulu's new dating series *Are You My First?*, a group of men and women who have never had sex convene in a tropical locale in hopes of finding love. But in **'s exclusive preview, the men are shocked to learn that one of the guys they'll be competing against *isn't* a virgin — at least when it comes to reality TV.**

In the first-look clip, the virgins have gathered for a get-to-know-you chat. Godwin — a 27-year-old real estate developer from New Jersey — asks another contestant, Mike, to introduce himself to his fellow virgins. It's a decision Godwin quickly regrets.

The more the women learn about Mike — he has his own business, he's in great shape, he's 34 and ready to settle down — the more interested they get. And when Mike reveals that he was once a contestant on *The Bachelorette*, Godwin isn't the only guy who's freaking out. The other men are convinced that Mike's previous reality TV experience will give him a leg up on the competition. Case in point: Andrew, 25, whose face says it all:

'Bachelorette' alum Katie Thurston says she's losing her memory amid cancer battle

For those of you who don't watch an alarming amount of reality TV and therefore may not be familiar with Mike, he appeared on Katie Thurston's season of *The Bachelorette* in 2021. At the time, Mike — who owns a gym in San Diego — described himself as "easygoing" and "disciplined." So disciplined, in fact, that during the season we learned Mike hadn't eaten a carb in seven years (!), but that didn't stop him from devouring a plate of Twinkies during a game of truth or dare on a group date.

Ultimately, though, Katie sent Mike home after an EXTREMELY AWKWARD "cuddle" date, which is forever burned into my memory. But it's clear Godwin, Andrew, and the other guys on *Are You My First?* don't know anything about that — otherwise, they wouldn't view Mike as such a threat.**

All 10 episodes of *Are You My First?* drop Monday, Aug. 18 on Hulu.

John Oliver couldn't pass up the opportunity to make fun of Dean Cain, the former Superman actor who recently joined ICE.

Sunday's episode of* Last Week Tonight* saw Oliver discuss President Donald Trump's deportation promises in the wake of his One Big Beautiful Bill. Midway through the story, the British host played Cain's ICE recruitment video, in which he says he joined the agency to "help secure the safety of all Americans." Oliver was far from impressed.

"You know, there's an old saying in Hollywood: 'If all you can get is Dean Cain, you are f---ed," Oliver quipped. "Now, I'm not saying that ICE isn't finding people. I'm just saying, when you are reduced to pinning a badge on the 59-year-old star of *The Dog Who Saved Christmas*, *The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation*, *The Dog Who Saved the Holidays*, *The Dog Who Saved Halloween*, *The Dog Who Saved Easter,* and *The Dog Who Saved Summer*, maybe you are in trouble."

Oliver did offer one positive about the* Lois & Clark *actor joining up with immigration agency, joking that Cain shouldn't have any trouble concealing his identity. "No need for that guy to wear a mask because the chances of anyone recognizing him are f---ing zero," Oliver said.

Towards the close of the episode, Oliver advised his audience on how to respond if approached by ICE agents, whether or not you're a U.S. citizen.

"Attorneys told us the only two things you should say to them are: 'Am I free to leave?' And 'I want to speak to a lawyer.' That's it. You have the right to remain silent," Oliver shared. "And I recognize that in some cases you may be unable to help yourself from saying: 'Didn't you used to be Superman? I thought you died.' ... But that really is it."**

Within hours of the episode airing, Cain had penned a response on social media.

"He stole that mask joke from the internet," Cain wrote on X, resharing a clip of Oliver's takedown. "And he also laughed hysterically when Trump said he was going to run for President. Case closed."

As for Oliver taking shots at his filmography, he added, "Those movies were sweet, by the way!"

Cain, a longtime supporter of Trump, announced his plans to join ICE earlier this month, during an Aug. 6 appearance on Fox News' *Jesse Watters Primetime*. Cain was previously sworn in as a reserve police officer in Idaho in 2018 and again as a reserve deputy sheriff in Virginia in 2022.

"We have a broken immigration system. Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for," Cain told Watters. "It's what I voted for and he's going to see it through, and I'll do my part and help make sure it happens."

Oliver is certainly not the first to slam Cain's position on the issue. Last week, John Leguizamo called the actor a "moron" in an Instagram video. He added, "What kind of loser volunteers to be an ICE officer? Dean Cain, your pronouns are has/been."

Cain also caught flak from *Glee* star Kevin McHale and comedian Margaret Cho, who pointed to the actor's Japanese heritage. (Cain's father was Japanese American, and the actor has stated that his family was interred at the Minidoka internment camp in the 1940s.)

"Why would you join ICE and encourage people to join ICE when your ancestors were interred in World War II?" Cho asked in an Instagram video. "You're Japanese. You're not even white... You're never gonna be white, no matter how racist you are, no matter how wrong you act."
